Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports Raksha Khadse joined athletes, students, and fitness enthusiasts at IIT Guwahati on Sunday for a special Commonwealth Games-themed edition of the Fit India Sundays on Cycle initiative.

"The enthusiasm of the Northeast, the participation of young citizens despite the rains — today reflected the energy of a New India moving confidently towards Commonwealth Games 2030," said Ms Raksha Khadse, MoS for Youth Affairs & Sports

Organised by the Sports Authority of India's Regional Centre Guwahati, the event marked the 75th edition of the nationwide programme and drew participants across more than 8,000 locations countrywide.

Olympian and Commonwealth medallist Sushila Devi Likmabam and Commonwealth medallist Jayanta Talukdar were among the distinguished athletes in attendance, inspiring young participants with their journeys on the international stage.

The IIT Guwahati campus hosted a cycling rally, yoga sessions, a Thang-Ta martial arts showcase, and a CWG-themed exhibition highlighting India's sporting achievements over the last decade.

With India set to host the historic Centenary Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad in 2030, initiatives like these aim to build grassroots sporting culture and national fitness as the countdown begins.
