IIT Guwahati Hosts Canadian Trade Office Delegation to Explore Academic and Industry Collaboration

Trade Commissioners from the Trade Office of Canada, met with the Director and senior faculty of IIT Guwahati to explore avenues for academic and industry collaboration and to lay the groundwork for an upcoming visit by Canadian High Commissioner Chris Cooter to Assam

A delegation from the Trade Office of Canada, led by Trade Commissioners Arjun Kumar Dutta and Paayel Kalra, met with the Director and senior faculty of IIT Guwahati on 19 June 2026 to explore avenues for academic and industry collaboration and to lay the groundwork for an upcoming visit by Canadian High Commissioner Chris Cooter to Assam in July 2026.


The meeting, held at the Director's Office, also included a representative from Lea Associates South Asia, alongside IIT Guwahati's Deans of Outreach Education and Skilling (ACIR in-charge), Students' Affairs, and Faculty Affairs.


Discussions centred on potential partnerships between IIT Guwahati and Canadian institutions and industry, as well as preliminary planning around the agenda and expectations for the High Commissioner's visit later this year.
