IEEE GCON 2026 Successfully Conducted at IIT Guwahati

The 3rd IEEE Guwahati Subsection Conference (IEEE GCON 2026), the flagship annual international conference of the IEEE Guwahati Subsection, was successfully held between June 3–5, 2026, at the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati.

The 3rd edition of IEEE GCON, the flagship annual international conference of the IEEE Guwahati Subsection, was a three-day conference attracting more than 350 delegates from across India. It brought together researchers, academicians, industry professionals, and students to present cutting-edge research, exchange ideas, and strengthen collaborations in emerging areas of engineering and technology.


IEEE GCON 2026 featured an outstanding technical program comprising five keynote lectures, four expert tutorials, 24 oral technical sessions, three poster presentation sessions, an Industry Forum, dedicated Women in Engineering (WiE) and Young Professionals (YP) sessions, and an IEEE Guwahati Subsection Executive Committee Meeting. The Industry Forum highlighted emerging trends in semiconductor manufacturing and advanced packaging technologies, as well as workforce development, fostering meaningful interaction between academia and industry.


A special highlight of the conference was the vibrant cultural evening showcasing the rich heritage of Northeast India through traditional performances representing the "Seven Sisters and One Brother." The conference concluded with a valedictory ceremony, during which Best Paper Awards were presented in recognition of outstanding research contributions.


The Organizing Committee expresses its sincere gratitude to all keynote and tutorial speakers, invited experts, authors, reviewers, session chairs, sponsors, volunteers, delegates, faculty members, and staff, whose dedication and support made IEEE GCON 2026 a grand success. The conference further strengthened the IEEE Guwahati Subsection's commitment to promoting excellence in research, innovation, professional networking, and industry–academia collaboration in the region.


The conference was organized under the leadership of Prof. Ramesh Kumar Sonkar, Organizing Chair, IEEE GCON 2026, with the support of the IEEE Guwahati Subsection, chaired by Prof. Chandan Kumar.
